ZK-Group acquires a participating interest in RK Umformtechnik GmbH & Co. KG. Their production of PCD, diamond and tungsten carbide drawing dies and metalworking machines moves into the modernised production shops of ZK.

LPT Inc. in Colorado Springs moves into a new production buildings and expands its production capacity.

Wallram Grindtec s.r.l. is founded in Montichiari, Brescia, Italy. This company will from March 2011 on take over production of Lizzini Precision Grinding Machines founded in 1947.

Foundation of Wallram Norge AS and takeover of the majority shareholding in Kristoffer Hovland AS in Dale Sunnfjord, Norway.

Wallram CTE founded in Krakau, Poland.

LPT Inc. in Colorado Springs, USA, is founded as a first foreign subsidiary, with Wallram as majority shareholder. It has been 100 % group-owned since 2008.

Transfer to the Kämpfer family of all remaining shares held by the family in Ziehstein-Kämpfer KG.

1991

Ziehstein Kämpfer KG becomes the holding company for all the companies of the group.

1989

New construction of Wallram’s production and administration building in Essen to expand production of carbide and tools.

Wallram becomes the first German company to produce carbide by the sinter HIP method.

1983

Takeover of tungsten carbide production at Wallram Hartmetall.

1982

The toolmaking division of the Wallram Hartmetall company located in Essen since 1913 becomes part of the ZK Group.

1978

Ziehstein-Kämpfer KG takes over production at the Hartmetall Ruhr company in Ergste and integrates it into the production unit in Herborn.

1971

The company is changed into a limited partnership (KG), and management of the firm is transferred to the second generation of the family.

1938

The founders, Hermann und Rudolf Kämpfer, begin manufacturing precision diamond and carbide drawing dies for the manufacture of wire, cable, tubes, pipes, bars and other hard-metal wearing parts under the company name “Ziehstein- Kämpfer OHG”. Even today the guiding principles of the company founders and their experience benefit partners of the international and group-independent family company now in the third generation.ens.
